• Born 1943 in Aalborg, Denmark.
• Studied mathematics and physics at Aarhus University, Denmark, 1962-1969. Graduated with the degree of mag.scient. in mathematics.
• Studied mathematics at University of California at Berkeley 1969-1972. Ph.D. 1972. Thesis advisor: Tosio Kato. Title of thesis: Wave Operators for Long-Range Scattering.
• Various teaching jobs and military service, 1972-1975.
• Taught 1975-1977 at the Technical University of Denmark.
• Visited University of California at Berkeley 1977-1978.
• Assistant professor of mathematics at University of Michigan, Dearborn, 1978-1981.
• Assistant professor of mathematics at Northern Arizona University, 1981-1984.
• Associate professor (Lektor) at the Technical University of Denmark, 1985-.
  I was at the "Danmarks Ingeniørakademi" until that engineering school was fully merged with the Technical University.
